"The Best in Hardcore/Jungle with a twist of upfront D&b and a touch of acid house"

dj name ?    REDEYE
age ?   31
starsigh ?  PISCES
fav food/drink  ? Love all food but you can’t beat a good old Sunday roast, drink wise I’d have to go for beer..... I guess I’m definitely English!!!
fav tv program ?   The mighty boosh, the Mitchell & Webb ting and generally stuff that make you chuckle!

How long have you been spinning the decks for? 16 years

What originally hooked you into the DJing scene?
I play a few instruments and have always loved music but I remember nicking a M.O.S Clives & Cole mix tape from my big sis, It didn’t leave my walkman for about 6 months,  I got a pair of gemini’s and just loved it from then on. Then I started going raving to Helter Skelter, Dreamscape, UD, AWOL etc , I remember a few mad ones at Roast , thats when I really got into Jungle and hardcore.

What type of music do you specialise in?
Mainly jungle/drum & bass but I also collect early Chicargo house, acid, breakbeat, dub, hip hop, garage and U.S house & garage.

Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it?
I paid £250 for a limited box set from massive attack back when I lived in Norway about ten years ago

What is your most treasured record and why?
Rhythm on the loose – Break of dawn.  I just love that track, it brings back so many memories and I took ages for me to find it on vinyl, I think I paid about 40 quid for it but it was well worth it.

What clubnights have you played at?
Reinforcements, Jazzid, Footfood, Skansen, Subcity, Miles ahead, agoura, Little & large, kids love wax e.t.c

What National / International clubnights have you played at?
I’ve recently moved back from Scandinavia so all the  above club nights were abroard.

What has been your coolest DJ night and why?
Defiantly Subcity which was a rave concept in Norway, they featured a new European city each month so when London got it’s turn so did I. I was djing to 9,000 nutters along side Dj Rap, Hype  and Groovrider.

Music scene - what do you think about it at the moment ?
I think It’s lost something now everything’s become digital and a few years ago it got stale as hell but now things seem to be changing again with a lot of sub styles happening, the future could be bright!

Have you got any Djing horror stories?
My drink got spiked at a warehouse party in Copenhagen once and I collapsed over the Dj booth bringing it to the floor with me. That was pretty embarrassing but I was so mulered I didn’t care!
Where would be your ultimate Djing location - home and abroad?
I’d Love to do a rave party in Russia, I’ve heard they’re really old school and raw.

Are you a resident DJ = if so where?
I dj at the Cobden club on Kensal road once a month with a bunch of others. Usually the last Friday of the month.

What are your all time Top 5 tunes?
1.  Pappa new guinea, future sound of london
2. break of dawn, rhythm on the loose
3. Juicy fruit, ntume
4. 6 million dub, Mad professor
5. searching, Freddy fox

Any big ups ?... Touch for sorting me out, Nicky for letting it happen, Phoebe, J & J Kru, LLoydie, Little simon D, Tore jazztobak, Laura, Ash, Aziz and everyone else who puts up with me!
