How long have you been spinning the decks for?
I've been dj'ing for about 10years (records for 7years laptop for 3years) Producing for 6 years.
What originally hooked you into the DJing scene?
Music.....ok I'll divulge.....I used to go to "all ages" club nights in Toronto, Ontario....back before raves and all that. We used to go to club RPM (which is now the warehouse) every sunday and Chris Shepard used to DJ there for CFNY (I know....I know...but he was really cool then...really) Anyway, then I was into the smiths, depeche mode, new order, the cure, madonna....and all that. They were all played at these all ages parties but then it slowly turned into acid house and the jungle brothers etc. I wore big pants and we were called "housers". I bought my first record then. It was a white label with the song "I'll House You". Then I stopped going to all ages parties mostly cause I started illegal drinking and hanging out with a different crowd. It wasn't until I went to a rave in Jan 1995 in Ottawa.....well then I was like wow they are playing all my favourite songs from when I used to go to all ages club nights....I then picked up Dj'ing in 1996 started buying records. Had decks by the end of 1996 (that I bought with a student loan --- which I finally paid off last year.....and that's what got me into DJ'ing! My only regret is that I didn't start when I bought "I'll house You" in my early teens!

Bored with current traditions she invents new ones. She will never be able to be put into a box. This comes as no surprise since she spends all of her time in the studio spending night and day working on arrangements and experimenting with low frequencies from her arsenal of Retro Tech synthesizers. Her creations are now released under Solid Vinyl (UK), Incidental Records (CA), Oscillate Recordings (CA) and her own imprint Tune Inc. Recordings. Her Electro creations are now getting remixed by the robot man himself JOHN B!!! (http://www.john-b.com) To evolve with the digital revolution, Queensyze has created her studio to be more mobile. She can now play complete sets without touching a turntable. Building her tracks live, while creating on the spot remixes dropping mashed up classic samples all at the touch of her fingertips. Queensyze is always reinventing her music, forging ahead and never looking back!
