How long have you been spinning the decks for?
6 years
What originally hooked you into the DJing scene?
i was raised on tape-packs especially the old Hysteria ones. I basically wanted to emulate the DJs I heard on these tapes. I wanted to contribute something to the scene and do things a bit differently. Anyone can mix tunes after a bit of practice, it’s the way you put them together and the vibe you create that makes a DJ. You have to have a vision.
Your musical influences?
In terms of DJs: Ray Keith, Darren Jay and Bryan Gee amongst others. I was influenced by my brothers tastes like the Madchester scene of the early 90s – Stone Roses, Happy Mondays etc… I also had a big heavy metal phase. Right now Im feeling a lot of the new garage, grime and dubstep that’s about, and I Im always lookin for Hip-Hop and Ragga tunes to blend with DNB. Other music helps me get a better perspective on DNB and inspires me.
What type of music do you specialise in?
Jungle/Drum an Bass. I also play very eclectic sets of UKG/Grime/Dubstep, but I am a Junglist first!!
Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it?
Ive spent 7 or 8 pounds on limited edition stuff before, but never paid silly money.
What is your most treasured record and why?
It has to be a tune by Dragonfist from ’98 never heard it anywhere else and I suppose you could call it my signiture tune
What clubnights have you played at?
I am a resident at the bi-monthly Fizzy Wednesday in Kings Cross London
