How long have you been spinning the decks for?

Since 1989,on and off, starting spinning tunes since back then, loved it then and still loving it like the first day now…answering the question 18 years now.

What originally hooked you into the DJing scene?

My brother, he bought some technics sl1210’s in 89’ and we got busy on em, spent everyday on them and in record shops, loved the long old skool mixes and that fresh original buzz then, the buzz, that wave of emotional excitational energy sweeping over your body…when you got a mix, and saying that those decks are the same decks I got now since 89’, there you have it, the best decks, still!!!…and also a fella from back in the old days called crazy j…who used to play Astoria, rocket, buzzby’s and yikes when it was all good (old skool days eh,all under one roof, same tempo, so much music)he really pumped me up to get mixing Just the raves and bassline did it for me…and the …ahem…jack n jills.

Your musical influences?

Oh man, I have been musically influenced by my mums tunes, she used to play some rare old stuff from Guyana, some old Trojan, king tubby, studio 1 bizniz n everything from raga/dancehall (80’s/90’s stuff, where some of them b-line’s is from), very big hip hop influenced, since Afrika Baambaata, Run DMC ,Cash Money etc , pop (yes I did say that), Motown (cant get more raw or original beats than this or lyrics), soul, funk, jazz, mainly…old skool hardcore…used to listen to loads of the old house, from the early days, acid house too!

You know influences come from anywhere and everywhere!!!!! I would say main influences…Shut Up n Dance Records, Rebel Mc stuff, Fabio, Grooverider, DJ Hype n Playaz, Krome & Time, Ellis Dee, Seduction, Carl Cox, Total Science, Roni Size, Goldie etc etc etc And even some of my dads rock n roll stuff!

What type of music do you specialise in?

Oh man, if I could I’d bring all my stuff down, its so diverse, I got so much that I play…but mainly, my love of the fast stuff… bouncy/dark/rolling/jump up drum & bass/jungle…but equally old skool…89 hip house, acid house…hardcore 90-93(u know the score)…and garage…also house(where is all began jacks house)….also love probably the biggest influence of all new music styles (esp D&B, jungle & old skool hardcore)-is hip hop, love to fiddle about n scratch to even try some battle styles!!! Hip hop is so diverse, just about every beat I can think of is in it!!!

Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for - how much was it?

You know, I got all my tunes when they were like £1.99 or £2.99…hahaha , but some are worth proper huge money…like Derek Mays- Strings Of Life… House Nation……Tour De France by Kraftwerk…some Africa Bambaata stuff…even old skool hardcore tracks Omni Trio-Renegade Snares(remix), Rufige Kru…2 Bad Mice - Bomscare (worth£35 now)…Acen - Trip to the moon pt 2 (worth 40 gibbers now).

Cant name everything,I’ll be here all damn day n night,I got so mny tunes worth doe now, hard to pinpoint 1!!!!

What is your most treasured record and why?

Now,this is a hard question…you know you shouldn’t ask that question, cos I got so many treasured pieces…too many to mention, but spose the older ones more, cos you cant get em no more!!!! But you put me on the spot and I can’t deliver….hold on…for now Krome & Time - Sounds of the Underground (late 91, early 92)….and its gotta be origin unknown – 31 seconds!!!

What clubnights have you played at?

Well you’d of thought eh….afraid to say, nuttin ar gwan…. I have been very pre-occupied with life, but watch out cos I’m letting loose again soon after I graduate!!!

What National / International clubnights have you played at?

None boohoo

Music scene - what do you think about it?

Music of all types needs to be conveyed to the youngsters, cos they are just in one circle of music, and the happiness and energy needs to be put back.

I don’t like the moodiness and bad boy crap attached to everything nowadays, get the music live, people dancing and keep it varied. Happy faces , not angry ones.

We need to go back to how it was in the old days pre 95’,people came to listen, let loose ,feel music be free n happy…now its all bling, rims n ho’s?????? Sorry and champagne!!!!

Clubs need to drop the rules on dress, let em wear what they want, relax a bit…get the rave scene back , cos its more happier n livelier and mainly people appreciated the music and vibe, not how they looked!!!! Rid bad attitudes…get the music lovers who love the bass n tunes back!!!! Back to the old days…peace, love & unity.

What has been your coolest DJ night and why?

Well, I gotta say its every night (if I get the chance unless I’m so tired I cant even lift the needle)!!!! But nothing prominent…but the old days….especially the rocket (old skool rave in holloway) & yikes(old skool rave in slough)….also one of nicest felt nights, was millennium village new years eve 2000…when dj hype played ray Keith’s- renegade terrorist at 12midnight….oh gosh they did something to the bass…or it must have been the ahems….i was on!!!

Have you got any DJing horror stories?

Yeah once when I played at a little youth, drug and community event, at fountains mill uxbridge, set up by me n a few people…was getting late and I was making a fuss of getting on the decks…when it came to me…I didn’t know how to deal with this mixer….and there was no crossfader,it was rotary knobs, so everything I was doing was coming out…cueing etc, I was dying for someones help….but it didn’t matter cos everyone was so out of it!!!!

Where would be your ultimate DJing location - home and abroad?

In a massive field stage thing at Glastonbury or say three mill island studio’s…or even the dome if it was still available or maybe from my bedroom to the whole world!!!!

Are you a resident DJ - If so where?

Resident in my bedroom still, hahahaha... somebody help me

What clubs / clubnights can we find you at?

Not playing…but still in the crowd help me get on the stage……not sweeping it.

What are your all time Top 10 tunes?

1. Krome & time - sounds of the underground

3. Ten City’s - That’s the way love is /Bryon stingly’s –get up

All I gotta say is peace, love  unity to all!!!!
