Bunji Thump
I've been dj'ing for the past 7 years and originally started out mixing Trance, after about a year or so I then discovered a drum n bass pirate station called Style fm back in my hometown of Norwich. I then started mixing drum n bass and continued to do so for around 3 years in which time i started up my own event Eruption at the Norwich Arts Centre where Scheme, founder of Bounce records was a resident.
At the age of around 19/20 the illegal rave scene in Norfolk began to interest me, strangely there was rarely any drum n bass being played and as a result I began to take an interest in Breakbeat, a genre which had a similar feel to drum n bass and was growing in popularity. It was at this point that I created my longest running event Shalom Sounds which also takes place in Norwich.
By the time I moved to London in late 2007 my dj style had changed again with my sets including not only breakbeat but also dubstep and electro/fidget/jackin house.
At present my sets include a mixture of electro/fidget/jackin house and I am continuing to develop my own productions that reflect the styles I mix. Recently I have played alongside Jack Beats, dj Orien and The Filthy Dukes. I continue to run the Shalom Sounds event back in Norwich and have recently started up a predominately house/ dubstep night at On The Rocks in Shoreditch called Full Colour. The event takes palce on the first Friday of every month and hosts a mixture of established and emerging talent from both scenes.
